Ice block recipes for your dog

Try this brilliant idea to keep your dogs both cool and entertained while you are out.

The temperatures are rising and summer is here, and now is the time for fun in the sun.

For animals, such as long haired dogs,the sun can be too hot and very dangerous.

While you are out of the house, whether it be at work or the mall, your dog is baking in the outside temperatures, hunting for a spot in the cooler shade.

Try this brilliant idea to keep your dogs both cool and entertained while you are out.

Recipe 1: chicken and vegetable ice block (for large dogs, divide in half for smaller dogs):

Ingredients:

You will need an empty plastic container, for larger dogs use an ice cream container, to freeze the ingredients in.

This will ensure that the dogs do not eat it whole, it will melt slowly and lasts longer than a smaller ice cube.

Directions:

Once frozen, remove the ice block from the freezer, open the lid and run water over the ice block.

Tip onto the ground and let your dog enjoy.

Tips:

Always be careful what vegetables you give your dog as some can have deadly effects.

You can substitute the vegetables in the recipe above, for something listed below.

NOTE: Please research any fruit or vegetables that are not on the list before giving to your dog.

Once again you will need an empty plastic container to freeze the ingredients in.

Once frozen, remove the ice block from the freezer, open the lid and run water over the ice block.

Tip onto the ground and let your dog enjoy.

Tips:

Alter the recipes to your dog’s taste or favourite flavours.

These ice blocks provide extra hydration as well as an icy treat.

Make several at a time and freeze them so you will have many in stock.
