Children more hopeful about the future than adults

The talented group packed the task with determination and came up with illustrating visuals.

The Addie posted a question on the Facebook page, asking Springsites what they think the future might look like in 100 years.

Pessimistic comments dooming a future that has not yet been written were plentiful but one hopeful Springsite, Isabella Botha, says she hopes there will be robots and flying cars. “That would be so awesome,” she says.

The Addie visited St. Catherine’s Nursery School in Selcourt to see what youthful minds think of the future.

Kelly Coates, the Grade R bunny class teacher, asked the toddlers to draw something they think will be present in the future.

The talented group packed the task with determination and came up with illustrating visuals.

Many of them hope that in 100 years there will be herbivore dinosaurs taking care of the human race.

Others have the idea that there will be flying cars as well as anti-gravity cars, which, when further explained by the artist, are cars driving on and over buildings.

They also feel that there will be many robots, which can do various things such as cleaning and cooking, and helping fellow humans out in need.

“Children need to be encouraged and inspired to build a future where their dreams can be made to become a reality,” says Kelly.
