The whereabouts of the child’s mother, Mapule Amelia Pitso, is unknown.
“The child’s grandmother applied to foster the child as he is in need of care and protection,” says social worker Ashmika Mungul.
The child has been living with his grandmother since the death of his biological father, Paul Phaswane Makatele, in July 2014.
Moosa has lived with his father and grandmother since he was six months old.
It is believed the mother provided the grandmother with an affidavit, placing the concerned child in her care, however, it is not signed nor dated.
