Community lends a helping hand

Less fortunate residents went to bed with a full stomach on Saturday night thanks to the actions of caring community members.

An estimated 400 residents from all over Springs descended on Butler Park, in Fourth Avenue, Geduld, for something to eat.

Pastor Kobus Blomerus from the Global Family Church attended the day with his wife, Melanie, and he recited a prayer and spoke to the crowd before everyone enjoyed the delicious food.

Sanette Joubert, one of those who helped on the day, says she cannot thank Blomerus enough as he always goes out of his way to help when they organise these days.

There was more than enough to go around and the children were also treated to cold drinks and sweets. Many bikers were also present on the day, including the Wild Wild Guardians.
