EMPD arrests man with nyaope

The EMPD arrested a 25-year-old man for possession of drugs at the main entrance of a local high school on Monday.

EMPD spokesman Clifford Shongwe says he was informed by members of the EMPD Tracing Unit about a suspicious-looking man in front of the school at 7.30am.

Shongwe says they searched the man and found small bags of nyaope in his possession.

The street value of the drugs is R15 000.

The EMPD suspects the man was about to sell drugs to school children.

The suspect was taken to the Springs Police Station where a case of possession of drugs was opened.

He will remain in the police cells until his court appearance.
