Robbers target woman

Three suspects reportedly took off with stolen goods and a VW Polo taken from a house in Patrys Street, Struisbult on Saturday.

When a woman woke up to a light shining in her face at 2am, she saw an unknown man, holding a crowbar in his hand.

It is believed he ordered her to keep quiet and asked her for money and a cellphone.

As the woman handed over her cellphone, she heard her daughter screaming and noticed another man entering her bedroom.

Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says when the two suspects took her to her daughter’s room, the woman allegedly heard someone else searching the house.

The suspects asked her for her car and gate keys.

Ramphora says the woman heard the suspects driving off in her car worth R80 000.

The suspects also took two cellphones, a tablet and some of her husband’s clothes.

According to the woman her husband works in Soweto and only comes home on weekends.
