Traffic diverted after Selcourt crash

An accident on the corner of Wit Road and Hewitt Avenue in Selcourt caused traffic to be disrupted on Wednesday.

A white Land Rover and a white Volkswagen Polo were involved in the collision at around 11am next to the Selcourt Towers shopping centre.

The crash caused the Land Rover to land on its side (driver’s side).

The driver and only occupant of the Land Rover sustained an injury to his shoulder and apart from shock, the two occupants of the Polo sustained no injuries.

The Polo’s rear end was damaged.

The EMPD and fire department were on the scene.

The road was cordoned off and traffic was diverted into the opposite lane, causing confusion among motorists who were travelling from the shopping centre and Nuffield.

William Ntladi, spokesman for the Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Services, (DEMS) says they responded out to the call in Wit Road.

“The call was received around 9.42am.”
