Suspect arrested after juice recovery

Springs police arrested a 28-year-old man for possession of suspected stolen goods, at 11am, on Monday.

It was reported that juice was stolen from a truck earlier on the day.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says a man, who claimed to be an employee of the company which manufactures the juice, drove past four men loading juice into a truck at an address in the CBD.

According to Ramphora, the man said that, when he approached the suspects, they were quite aggressive, got into the truck and drove off.

The complainant called the Springs police for assistance.

The police followed the truck and brought it to a halt on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fifth Street.

Three of the suspects ran away, but one man was arrested.

He was charged with possession of suspected stolen goods.

The 52 2lt containers of juice were recovered and taken to the Springs Police Station as evidence.

The man will appear in court soon.
