Domestic worker tied up by three robbers

A frightened domestic worker was grabbed by a robber at her employer's house along Granby Street, Selcourt, on Tuesday.

The woman was surprised when she noticed an unknown man on the premises at 10.30am.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man allegedly asked for clothes.

The worker got the fright of her life and tried to run into the house, but was grabbed by the man.

When he pushed her into the house, she noticed two more men were already inside the house.

The three men took electrical appliances and tied the worker up with a skipping rope and left her in one of the rooms.

Ramphora says the worker’s husband then walked into the house and called his wife.

There was a struggle between the three robbers and the husband, and the men managed to escape and run away.

The men got away with a camera, cellphone and some jewellery.

A case of house break-in was opened at the Springs Police Station.
