Santi Steinmann, spokesman for Netcare 911, says when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found two men had sustained critical injuries during the incident.
The men, aged 22 and 45, were allegedly involved in an argument before the incident.
The exact details surrounding the cause of the incident and preceding events are not known.
Paramedics treated both men at the scene and rushed them to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora was unable to confirm the incident.
