Show your support for Vita Nova

Help the Vita Nova Centre by joining them at the Operation Hope Grows event, at Wemmer Pan, on August 29.

The centre is a non-profit organisation for the mentally and physically challenged, and is in dire need of funds.

They are currently struggling and by hosting events they can raise much needed funds to keep their doors open.

Michelle Immelman, the centre director, is appealing to the public to join them on the day and help them break the Guinness World Record for the most people making heart shaped hand gestures.

“We are not closed yet and will do everything in our power to prevent closing the doors,” she says.

To get family and friends involved in a good cause, take a drive to Wemmer Pan and join in the fun and competitions on the day.

The activities will include a potjie competition, wheelchair relay races and different age groups for Miss Wemmer Pan.

There will be live music, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and flea market stalls.

Entrance fee for adults is R100, for pensioners R35 and for children it is R25.

Anyone who wish to contribute towards the event or sponsor prizes can contact Mercia van Schalkwyk on 083 797 3376 or email bedazzleg@gmail.com.
