Suspects take child’s money

It seems cigarettes, cash and sweets weren't enough for three suspects who robbed a shop in Rowhill on Thursday, July 23, as they also stole money from one customer, who is only a child.

One of the suspects was armed when they entered the shop on the corner of Robertson and Connaught streets at 2.10pm.

After committing the robbery, the suspects ran out the shop and drove off in a white vehicle.

No shots were fired and the Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says the value of goods taken was about R6 300.

“As if this is not enough, the suspects also took cash from a child who was a customer in the shop,” says Ramphora.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station.
