Man robs house, hides in it
A 33-year-old man was arrested after he was found hiding in a house in Strubenvale on Tuesday, July 21.
Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) officers Louis Els and Louwtjie du Toit responded to a house robbery complaint in Moffat Avenue.
When the officers arrived at the scene, members of the Strubenvale Community Police Forum (CPF) informed them about suspects allegedly robbing a house.
Accompanied by CPF members, officers Els and Du Toit entered the premises and found the backdoor broken.
At 10.45am they searched the house and found one suspect hiding inside. EMPD officials arrested the man for house break-in and theft and took him to the Springs Police Station.
Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora confirmed that a case of house break-in and theft was opened.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
