UPDATE: Sewage leak fixed

The Ekurhuleni Metro have recently sent out a team to fix the sewage spill in Tonk Meter Way, Selection Park.

In the article 'Sewage spill in Selcourt' (Springs Advertiser, July 23), it states the leak was reported on July 8.

Metro spokesman Themba Gadebe confirmed they received the complaint on July 8 and says they have sent out a team to unblock the drain.

However, the problem was further up at the main line in the veld between trees.

Gadebe says a team, accompanied by a contractor, went out on Thursday to repair the 150mm diameter sewer pipe.

The line was fully operational by the end of business.
