Pedestrian accident in Geduld

An eight-year-old boy was knocked over by a vehicle in Geduld this afternoon (July 23).

The accident took place at Fifth Street near Fourth Avenue.

EMPD officer Louis Els responded to a call of a pedestrian being knocked over by a car.

When Els and Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene, at 1.30pm, they found the boy sitting on the side of the road.

They found the boy had sustained minor to moderate injuries during the pedestrian accident.

The injured boy was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured during the accident.
