Hijacked vehicle recovered in KwaThema

The vehicle of a Wright Park resident was hijacked on Monday night and recovered a few hours later.

The resident arrived at her home in Mei Street, at 8.35pm.

She was about to lock the door behind her when she heard someone say, “don’t make a noise”.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and asked her for her car keys.

When she handed it over, the suspect got into the vehicle and tried to start it.

When he couldn’t he asked the victim to assist him.

The suspect drove off in the silver Toyota.

Ramphora says the vehicle was recovered in KwaThema later that night.
