The driver parked his vehicle at the corner of Nigel and Fourie roads at 1.35pm.
While talking on his cellphone, two men approached his vehicle.
One of the men, who was armed with a gun, walked towards the driver and the other one walked around the car to the passenger side.
The armed man pointed his gun at the driver and ordered him to “get out of the vehicle”.
Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the hijackers took the man’s cash, got into the vehicle and drove off.
He says the driver claims there was personal documentation in the car.
