Mad Rage hosts awareness campaign

Mad Rage Against Child Abuse held an awareness campaign on Saturday at Springs Old Boys Club.

Despite the cold weather, bikers from as far as Johannesburg joined other biker clubs from Springs and surrounding areas to show their support against child abuse.

Founder of Mad Rage, Andries Ferreira, says the organisation stands to raise awareness around child abuse.

Although some of the bikers arrived with soft toys, Andries says it was only an awareness event.

Mrs Mad Rage, Susan Myburgh, was a guest at the campaign and shared her concern about child abuse and stressed that it should not be kept a secret.

Crizinda du Toit (13) from Bredell, Kempton Park, shared her debate speech on child abuse with everyone.

She recently received a gold certificate for the speech during a debate competition in Kempton Park.

The Springs FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Assault), an organisation of the SAPS, had woman and child abuse displays, which were set up away from other stalls as children u-13 were not allowed to look at them due to the sensite nature of the pictures.
