Mduduzi is smiling again

A Good Samaritan is going to help Mduduzi Dhlamini (78) build up his cattle herd.

After eight of Mduduzi’s cows were slaughtered on May 27, the Slovo Park resident was devastated.

It left him without hope for the future and he worried about being able to provide for his family again.

After reading the article about Mduduzi’s horrific experience in the Addie (‘Cattle slaughtered’, June 4), Bakerton resident Jeye Iyam has been constantly thinking of Mduduzi.

Being a dairy farmer himself, he knows the feeling of losing an animal.

He claims cattle become like children to a farmer.

Jeye started praying for Mduduzi and decided to put his thoughts into action.

He is hoping to buy a cow and deliver it to Mduduzi’s kraal next week.

Mduduzi is happy about this and says he will do everything in his power to protect the cattle.

He was in a state of shock after his cows were slaughtered for meat.

Mduduzi says it was the worst day of his life and he was left speechless when he saw his cattle in a nearby trench, with their shins hacked.

Only four of his cows returned to the kraal.

He and his friends caught four of the five men responsible.
