Nursing staff reported she is still unresponsive, but had a restless night.
When her mother Miena van Zyl visited her last night, Fiona opened her eyes for a short while and reached for Miena’s hand.
“It was wonderful to see her eyes open, even though it was for a brief moment,” says Miena.
Fiona was hit by a car on Wednesday in Fourth Avenue, Geduld, when crossing the road to Miena’s place of employment.
She sustained serious head injuries.
Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says a case of reckless and neglegent driving was opened at the Springs Police Station.
