Information is given to the Addie by the Springs police.

A man was robbed by armed men while talking on his cellphone in First Street, CBD, on Sunday (June 14).

He was standing outside his shop at 9am, when three men approached him.

Spokesman for Springs police Capt Johannes Ramphora says one of the robbers pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim.

The robbers took his cellphone, cash and bank cards, and ran away.

The victim managed to identify one of the men, who was wearing a reflective jacket.

The suspect was arrested after he was identified by the victim.

He will appear in court soon.

* Four men robbed a business in Miller Road, Nuffield, on Friday (June 14).

A security guard on the premises noticed the robbers, one of whom was armed, at 10pm.

The armed man ordered the guard to report everything was in order, and the four robbers left the premises at 1.50pm.

Police were called and noticed the back fence was broken and the burglar bars to the building were removed.

A computer was stolen.

* A woman was robbed in Fifth Avenue, CBD, on Saturday (June 13).

The woman was walking when a man approached her on foot and a red VW Golf stopped behind her.

Two men got out of the car and one pointed a gun at her.

They took her laptop, cellphone and clothes she had in a bag, jumped into the vehicle and drove off.

* A man was assaulted and shot at in Main Avenue, CBD, on Friday (June 12).

He was looking for work at a butchery when he was approached by a man at 10.55am.

The man pushed the victim against a delivery truck outside the butchery and assaulted him.

Ramphora says the victim tried to defend himself, but his attacker pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the victim.

The victim escaped the ordeal and called the police.

The man, who was found with a gun in his possession, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

* A woman was robbed of her cellphone in Nestor Road, Pollak Park, on Friday (June 12).

She walked past a man, who was talking on his cellphone, who asked her for the time.

Ramphora says the woman found it strange because the man could have seen the time on his cellphone.

He allegedly grabbed her from behind, pointed a gun at her and took her cellphone, laptop and ID.

He walked away with the stolen goods.

A case of armed robbery was opened at the Springs police station.

* Three armed men wearing balaclavas took a flat screen TV in Bakerton on Friday (June 12).

A man was waiting for his friend to leave after visiting him in Sugarbird Road, at 6pm, when he saw three armed men approaching them.

While standing at the door of his house, the victim tried to lock the security gate, but was unable to and ran to his bedroom.

Two men entered the house and ordered the victim to deactivate the alarm.

The robbers took a flat screen TV and left.
