Create an animal poster and win

The poster must not just be a pretty picture, but a picture with a message.

Entries for the Animaltalk and Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) Annual School Poster Competition, an educational campaign which promotes animal welfare through the medium of art, are now open.

Primary school learners have to create posters in which people show compassion and kindness to animals, care for and affect their lives in positive ways.

The poster must not just be a pretty picture, but a picture with a message.

A slogan or title may also contribute towards making the message clear as a good poster grabs the attention.

Children can enter as many times as they like.

Requirements

They may use any medium, including paint, pastel, ink or crayons to be creative.

Posters should be bold, striking and original, and preferably done on A2 or A3 paper.

Children must remember to write their name, surname, age, grade, the category and their school’s name and email on the back of their pictures.

The finalists’ posters will be displayed on www.facebook.com/aacljhb, where the first prize winners will also be announced.

The closing date of the competition is October 31, and the first place prizes are as follows:

Category one: Grade one and two learners: R2 000

Category two: Grade three, four and five learners: R2 000.

Category three: Grade six and seven: R2 000.

The school with the most entries will win a Canon colour laser printer valued at R6 999.
