Recovery programme for addicts now in Springs

A 12-step recovery programme has now found its way to Springs.

Hands Extended is a sub-division of the Reach programme that is established in Boksburg, and takes place at Jesus is Light church in Eastvale.

Wyda Greyvenstein and her husband Hendry, who are the facilitators of the programme, says that this has been started in Springs to help the community who struggle with various kinds of problems.

What is an addiction?

An addiction is a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in a specific activity.

What is recovery?

Recovery is the process by which your life starts to regenerate.

This programme is for one year and the only cost involved is the drug test of R55 per week and the manual, Celebrate Recovery, of R150.

It is suggested that any person attending the programme bring a trusted person with as a supporter.

The programme takes place every Monday at 7pm at the Jesus is Light Church on the corner of Amatola and Du Toitskloof streets in Eastvale.
