Support Child Welfare by wearing tekkies on Friday

It is annual Tekkie Tax Day on Friday (May 29).

Kick off the high heels, school shoes or boots and swap them for your comfy pair of tekkies.

The Springs and KwaThema Child Welfare Society’s project manager, Sanet van Moerkerken, says the day is for a good cause.

The community can choose which beneficiary sector they want to support – animals, basic family care, children, disability or education.

She says the public are welcome to choose more than one charity.

Tekkie Tax stickers cost R10 and are available from the society.

“People can get also get a pair of our funky shoelaces called ‘tekkie tags’,” says Sanet.

The society is in need of support in this fundraising event, and Sanet urges everyone to participate, including businesses.

To order stickers or ‘tekkie tags’, send an email to cwsasprings@gmail.com.

Stickers and shoelaces ordered online will be delivered.

Alternatively, visit the society at 3 12th Street, Springs CBD.
