Brave Knights face freezing winter nights

The community can make a difference.

The Winter Knights of the Round Table are calling on everyone to take hands in the fight against the cold and help them spread warmth to the less fortunate this winter.

President of Round Table Southern Africa Leon Garbade says this is the 12th year the Winter Knights campaign will unite communities through the giving and receiving of blankets, clothing and hot meals that not only warm bodies, but the hearts of all involved.

The success of this campaign lies in the passion of the Winter Knights who serve their community by putting their hearts and souls into a variety of self-funded fundraising activities.

These men, aged between 18 and 40, are from all walks of life.

“They brave freezing winter nights to go out and cover the homeless with blankets and serve hot meals to the hungry,” says Leon.

Their delivery of winter supplies at homeless shelters, orphanages and old age homes brings smiles to the faces of young and old alike.

Leon believes the true measure of their success is the hope that is spread to those who receive, and the joy that is felt by those who are able to give.

They are looking forward to another successful fundraising project, which is only made possible with the involvement and partnership with local communities.

Everyone can support this campaign by donating blankets, warm clothing, non-perishable food items and monetary donations.
