The future of an abandoned Transnet building in Tuin Street, Oranjehof will soon be determined.

This building is a major cause for concern to Hi5Kids recovery Unit founder Barries Barnard.

Barnard says they have made numerous visits to the building and believe it is a haven for drug dealers.

Several drug-related arrests have been made at this site in the past.

“Due to the fact that a school is next to this building, we believe drugs are being sold to the school children over the wall,” he says.

Vagrants have now moved into the abandoned building and graffiti can be seen on all the walls.

Barnard claims the graffiti is gang-related.

“The best solution is for the building to be demolished,” he says.

Although Transnet claims they have no answer to the solution yet, they told the Addie that they are currently investigating the matter.
