Accident on Nigel Road causes vehicle to overturn
Two adults and and a child were taken to hospital following an accident on Nigel Road, Selection Park , at around 2pm yesterday (Friday).
The driver of a silver single-cab Mitsubishi bakkie was travelling along Nigel Road in the direction of the CBD when the driver of a maroon Nissan Almera allegedly swerved in front of him.
The Almera had two occupants, the driver and a learner from Laerskool Selection Park.
The bakkie skidded and landed on its side, while the Almera came to a standstill a few metres away.
When the Addie arrived on the scene, the drivers of both vehicles and the primary school learner had been transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department had yet to arrive on the scene and there was a disagreement among witnesses as to whether those involved in the accident had in fact sustained any serious injuries.
Damage was caused to another bakkie, which was parked on the corner of Allen and Nigel roads, when the Mitsubishi’s canopy fell off during the accident and hit it.
The Addie is awaiting more information from emergency services.
