Musical treat for Epilepsy SA residents

Music brings smiles to residents faces.

Residents of the Epilepsy South Africa Daggafontein Centre enjoyed a visit from members of the Lodeyko Methodist Church and Springs Rotary Anns on Wednesday.

The visitors went to a lot of effort to put smiles on all the residents’ faces.

They were treated to snacks and cooldrinks, before everyone moved to the centre’s hall for a sing-along.

Church members brought their musical instruments, and when everybody was finally settled, they all rejoiced in the music.

Those who couldn’t sing, clapped their hands to the beat.

Church member Jackie Gillies said the two organisations have been involved at the centre for nearly 25 years.

The aim of this annual visit and treat is to share the message of Easter with the residents.

Due to the fact that some residents go to their families at different times during April, the visit usually only happens in May.

Church member Andrew Minnie says the residents should know there are people outside of the centre who care about them.
