Three people killed in accident
An accident in Star Street, Selcourt, on Friday (April 24) resulted in the deaths of three people.
A motorcyclist, his passenger and a pedestrian were killed, after the bike allegedly struck the pedestrian at about 9.15pm.
The motorcyclist was treated on scene by Rescue 24 ambulance services and transported to a nearby hospital.
“He sustained multiple fractures and trauma to his chest,” says paramedic Andre Momberg.
His passenger was declared dead on the scene, after suffering major head trauma.
The pedestrian was also declared dead on scene by Rescue 24 paramedics due to severe trauma to his torso.
Two EMPD officials Louis Els and Louwtjie du Toit say the motorcyclist later died due to the seriousness of his injuries.
A case of culpable homicide was opened at the Springs Police Station.
