Motorbike caught between two vehicles

Motorcyclist air born after hit by a bakkie from behind.

The driver of a motorbike suffered only minor injuries on Saturday at an accident in Nigel Road, Selection Park.

At 12.30pm, a vehicle was at a stand still in Nigel Road, waiting to turn right into Parkes Road, with a red car behind it and a motorcycle behind the red car.

A bakkie driving in the right hand lane allegedly didn’t see the bike and other two vehicle standing still and hit the motorbike from behind.

The owner of the bike, Frank van den Berg, says he was hit from behind and his bike went into the back left side of the red car in front of him.

He was air born and landed in front of his bike in the left hand lane.

“I am quite sad about the damage to my bike,” he says.

He claims the damage to the bike is estimated at about R60 000.

When EMPD officials Louwrens du Toit and Louis Els arrived on the scene they found van den Berg next to his bike.

They claim the driver of the motorcycle is lucky to escape with minor injuries.

The right hand lane had to be closed by the EMPD, but after 30 minutes it was open for traffic again.
