Head-on collusion in Nigel Road
Two vehicles collided leaving several people injured.
A head-on collusion in Nigel Road, Selcourt on Saturday morning (March 21) left a man with serious chest injuries.
The accident took place before the Sharon Park Shopping Centre where a double cab bakkie and a taxi collided.
The provincial ambulance service treated two stable patients and transported them to hospital.
Rescue 24 Ambulance Service advanced life support paramedic, André Momberg and his crew treated the driver of the double cab who was still trapped in the bakkie.
“He was extricated from the bakkie after the Springs Fire Department assisted us in cutting him out of the vehicle with the jaws of life,” says André.
The man sustained serious chest injuries and after stabilising him, he and a passenger from the same vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital.
André says the man is still in a serious condition and was admitted to ICU.
