There is not a drain problem in Dal Fouche is the Ekurhuleni metro’s comment about the Addie’s story (March 12) about overflowing sewage in this area.
The metro reacted after Dal Fouche residents complained about the blocked drains and overflowing sewage coming from the pump station.
Themba Gadebe, spokesman of Ekurhuleni metro say the metro has conducted a thorough investigation on this Dal Fouche drain issue.
The only problem was identified at the pump station is that there are parts which need to be replaced.
The replacement work has been handed over to the appointed contractors.
He says an instruction has been given to the contractors to ensure that they control the levels at the pump station.
This will ensure that the sewer does not back up to the drains again.
