Community members receive Paul Harris Fellow award

The Rotary Club of Springs Park held their Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow dinner lasy Thursday evening.

In recognising members of the community, three people were awarded with the Paul Harris Fellow awards.

Among these community members was Mary Reynolds, who has been giving years of her time and energy to the organisation.

Ueli Hiller from the Rotary organisation says the recognition of a Paul Harris Fellow automatically directs a donation of $1 000 (about R11 550) from their club to the foundation of Rotary International.

“By giving public recognition to the activities of the recipients, I believe that we are giving direct support to their efforts in our community,” he says.

“Through our contribution, we are helping to fund the community activities of the service arm of our organisation whilst at the same time, acknowledging and recognising the dedication of time and effort of our community recipients.”

Vernon Jones, Athol Davis and Mary Reynolds from the Rotary Club of Springs Park all received a Paul Harris Fellow awards at the function.
