Dressmaker urges young ones to participate

This competition is a privilege because it changes young people's lives.

A local dressmaker encourages all young people to take part in this year’s Lady Gracious and Sir Gracious competition.

Linda Broodryk, a Spring businesswoman, says being one of the sponsors of this competition is a privilege because it changes young people’s lives.

Entries for this competition, the brain child of Suret Ströh from Brakpan, are now open.

Married and single women, as well as teenagers and children can enter.

There are also categories for young men and boys.

Linda says her involvement in the competition is sponsoring the evening wear for the participants.

She has been connected to several pageants, but believes this one is life-changing for those who take part.

This is more than a beauty pageant because the organisers are not searching for young people with looks, but choose to walk a road with the contestants, teaching them values and skills.

Entries close on February 28.

To get entry forms, visit Linda at her shop at 52 Fifth Avenue, Springs central business district.
