The park is used by residents in the area to walk their dogs but currently that is not possible due to the long grass and the refuse strewn all over.
Springs Extension resident Heniel Mathee says the metro claimed to have cut the grass in the park, but it is a job not done properly.
He wants to know what happened because only a certain area of the grass in the park was cut.
He claims he watches people having their daily lunch in the park, leaving behind their polystyrene holder, colddrink tins and plastic bottles.
“It upsets me to think that people leave their rubbish in the park and don’t consider others using the park,” he says.
Although the rubbish is piling up, he feels the reason is due to the lack of waste bins set up in the park.
Despite sending pictures of the state of the park to the metro a week ago no comment was received at the time of going to press.
