Weeds reaching as high as a concrete wall and illegal dumping are the cause of an eyesore pavement in Seventh Street, Geduld.
Willie Coetzee, who is living opposite this overgrown and black-bag-strewn pavement says he cleaned it shortly before Christmas.
He says his repeated calls to the municipality to clean up the pavement fell on deaf ears, because this pavement has been looking like this for years now.
Willie says he cleaned the plants and illegally dumped rubbish around the hidden electricity box on this overgrown pavement last week so that the municipal workers do not have to search for it.
He says he fears for his life when he has to get home at night, because someone can easily hide between the bushes.
Added to this, the street light in front of his house is also out, making it very dark in front of his house.
The Addie did contact the Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality for comment, but has received no answer yet.
