UPDATE: Drug manufacturer out on bail

He was granted bail of R4 000.

The 38-year-old unemployed man who was arrested on January 22, recently appeared in the Springs Regional Court.

The police found a motor and several drums of various ingredients such as methylated spirits used by the suspect for manufacturing the crack cocaine in his garage in Dal Fouche.

He was charged for manufacturing crack cocaine.

He was granted bail of R4 000.

Spokesman for the Springs police Captain Johannes Ramphora says it is not sure when he has to be back in court again as the Hawks, South Africa’s new Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) has taken over the case.

“Once the Hawks step in, it is out of our hands,” he says.

Spokesman for the Hawks Captain Paul Ramaloko was not available for comment.
