Midnight break-in in Struisbult

Cash and jewellery stolen from a house in Struisbult.

A woman and her three children were asleep when eight robbers surprised them in their house in Struisbult at 11:45p, on Tuesday.

Three of the robbers were armed and entered the bedroom where the mother was sleeping.

They ordered her to hand over cash and jewellery to them.

Spokesman of the Springs police Captain Johannes Ramphora says one of the robbers called out “these people are wasting my time, there is no money in the house” to his fellow robbers.

The other robbers entered the bedroom with the three children.

Ramphora says the robbers tied the children’s hands with shoelaces.

After a while the victims realised it was quiet in the house and went to see if the robbers had left.

They noticed the security and wooden door were open and a Plasma TV, four cellphones and handbag were missing.
