Young woman critically injured
The vehicle she was in hit a lamp post and overturned.
A 19-year-old Delmas resident sustained serious injuries in an accident in Strubenvale on Friday.
It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle when it hit a lamp post.
At 11.30pm, Netcare 911 and Rescue 24 Ambulance services arrived on the scene.
Rescue 24 spokesman André Momberg says the paramedics treated the driver of the vehicle who sustained a major cut to his leg.
The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Momberg claims the woman was still conscious when they arrived on the scene.
Netcare 911 spokesman Santi Steinmann says the woman was critically injured.
It is believed she sustained serious head injuries and a fracture to the leg.
Steinnman says the woman was taken to the Far East Rand Hospital (FERH).
According to spokesman for FERH Hendrik Buda, when the ambulance arrived with the patient. she was transferred to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital immediately due to the extent of her injuries.
