No cricket games due to water leak

A water meter leak at Springs Old Boys Cricket Club in Pollak Park is causing postponement of current cricket games.

The two teams that played on Sunday and the Colt team, scheduled to play on field b, had to be moved to field c on Sunday due to a water leak.

Chairman of the club Lionel Joubert says he can’t allow games to be played on that field as the one corner of the field is flooded.

Three games are scheduled to be played on Saturday January 24 but, with part of field b being underwater, Lionel has no control over the matter.

It is believed the leak started early December and got worse over time.

“It is an inconvenience for us and we hope the metro will be able to fix the leak before the weekend to allow the grass to dry out,” says Lionel.
