He went to draw cash at a bank in Selcourt before returning to his shop in Third Street, central business district.
Two armed men entered the shop and the one stayed at the entrance to the shop when the other one ordered the owner to hand over the black bag containing the cash.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, believes the men followed the owner as they knew exactly what to ask for.
The robber jumped over the counter, grabbed the bag, the shop owner’s car and house keys and drove off in a silver Hyundi.
