The robbers, three armed with firearms, forced the family into the kitchen and ordered them to lay down.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says one of the robbers put a plastic bag over his head and took him with them while they were searching the house.
The took cash, cellphones, a computer and electrical appliances before driving off in the victim’s Mercedes Benz.
Ramphora says the vehicle was recovered in KwaThema on the same day.
He says the community should be vigilant at all times.
