Man robbed when his car broke down

A man was driving his vehicle in Selcourt last Thursday, when the engine cut out and the vehicle came to a stand still.

He tried to restart the car but was surprised by a man pointing a gun at him through the open window on the driver’s side.

According to Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, the armed robber ordered the victim the get out of the vehicle and lay down on the ground.

The victim heard the robber talking to someone but was too s cared to look.

The armed robber allegedly asked the victim where he is hiding his safe keys and when he said he had none, the robber threatened to shoot him.

The robbers took the man’s wedding ring, cash and two cellphones and ran away.
