Springs business robbed

A group of five men robbed a business in the central business district on Wednesday (December 19).

A group of five men entered a shop in Fourth Street when one of them pulled out a gun and threatened the owner of the shop.

The robbers ordered the owner to hand over cash.

According to Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, the men allegedly parked their silver BMW get-away vehicle in Third Street.

They robbed the shop of cash, cigarettes and cellphones before they ran away into the direction of the Springs Station.

Ramphora claims they have traced the registration number of the vehicle and found it belongs to a man from Soweto.
