Just when the victim thought he was going to be the owner of a new car, the robbers took his money and fled.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the victim went to withdraw the money to buy his dream car in Benoni and came back with his friend to buy the car from one of the car dealers in Springs.
He says the victim noticed the three men who were standing not far from the car dealer’s offices and little did he know that the men were robbers.
The robbers, who were armed with firearms, then approached him and grabbed a plastic bag with all the money and escaped from the scene.
A case of armed robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station and the police are looking for the robbers.
