Pastor is a road safety ambassador

He has been a member of Ekurhuleni Metro's faith-based organisations since 2000.

A minister from KwaThema was recently appointed as a road safety ambassador in the national ministry of Transport.

This national title comes to Reverend Steven Mbatha, one of the leaders of the KwaThema-based Christian Nationality Apostolic Church in Zion.

He is seconded to represent the Ekurhuleni Metro’s faith-based organisations at the Road Traffic Infringement Agency, an entity of the Department of Transport.

Besides regular prayer meetings for safety on our roads, the committee’s role is to do community education and awareness concerning individuals’ rights and options concerning road safety.

Mbatha has been member of Ekurhuleni Metro’s faith-based organisations since December 2000.

He was honoured with a plaque of recognition from the metro mayor, Mondli Gungubele at the recent Ekurhuleni faith-based organisations’ summit for his 14 years’ service on this committee of the metro.
