Rest stop results in hijack

A man stopped his car on the side of the road on the Paul Kruger Highway yesterday, when he was hijacked.

At 7.30pm, he stopped his white VW Polo at the side of the road when he noticed an armed man pointing a firearm at him.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the man alleged at the same time two more men were seen at the passenger side of the car.

They threatened to shoot him if he does not get out of his car.

The three hijackers got into the car and drove off leaving the victim stranded.

Ramphora says the car was found in an open field in Geduld Extension late last night.

No one was arrested.
