Apartheid Museum

Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre

The Cheetah Centre in South Africa was established in 1971, initially as a cheetah breeding project

The Centre has bred over 800 cheetah cubs over the past 40 years. 

Various conservation projects have been initiated since its inception which also inlcudes a successful African wild dog breeding programme. 

Known in the past as the De Wildt Cheetah Centre, the name has recently been changed to the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre as a tribute to the woman who has devoted her life to the survival of the cheetahs as well as other rare and endangered species.

Lindfield Victorian House Museum

Lindfield is a Provincial Heritage Site which was originally called Grey Roofs.

The original small cottage was designed by Herbert Baker who dominated the architectural scene in South Africa from his arrival in the Cape (1892) until his return to England in 1912. 

The house was originally built around 1910. 

The majority of rooms are open to the public, including all the principal reception rooms, the ladies drawing room, gentleman’s library, music room as well as the formal dining room, bedrooms, children’s dining room and nursery, bathrooms, pantry and kitchen which are 18 rooms in total.

Lion and Rhino Nature Reserve

There are many things to do for the whole family at the Lion and Rhino Park.

Join the lions, cheetahs and wild dogs while they are being fed.

Visit the Reptile Park with a display of live reptiles and also see the lion, cheetah and tiger cubs display where you can personalise the trip by taking a photo with the cubs while touching them.

The Animal Crèche is also a definitive must-see and enjoy a nice picnic at the braai area.

Nelson Mandela Square

A towering sculpture of South Africa’s favourite son holds court over Nelson Mandela Square. 

One of the largest open public spaces in the country, the Square adjoins the renowned Sandton City complex. 

This European styled piazza commemorates heritage and celebrates international style with the warmth of African hospitality. 

It draws a cosmopolitan society to its sidewalk cafes, some of the finest restaurants in South Africa and over 88 exclusive stores. 

The 1 000sqm Square serves as a stage for a host of local and international prestigious events. 

There is always a song or a dance in the air at the Square while you are doing exclusive shopping and fine dining.
