Bakerton Community Centre’s facelift

The Bakerton Community Centre is fully operational again.

This comes after it was closed for renovations for almost a year.

The kitchen is fitted with new cupboards, the bathroom was given a facelift and the inside of the hall has new vinyl floors with tiles in front of the stage.

This revamp was made possible by the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture (Srac).

Ward councillor Ramesh Sheodin says beautifying the hall and its facilities is a big step forward.

The clinic next to the centre was also closed but is now open every Wednesday from 8am to noon for primary health care.

He says he is grateful to Srac for making the centre beautiful and something the community can be proud of.

The hall is a category A hall and can be hired for functions.

To book the hall contact 011 999 1272.

No comment was received from the metro about the revamp at the time going to press.
