Three armed men wearing balaclavas hijacked a Mercedes Benz 320 at a house in Selcourt Monday.

The owner of the vehicle arrived at home at 8.20pm, and while waiting for his electronic gate to close, he heard a loud noise.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says the man allegedly saw a white BMW driving into his gate, preventing it from closing.

Two of the hijackers were armed with rifles and the other one with a pistol.

They pointed their guns at the victim and ordered him to lie down on the ground.

Ramphora says one of the one armed men searched the victim and took his wallet and cellphone.

This robber jumped into the BMW while the other two got into the Mercedes and drove off.

The police were notified by a tracking company that the vehicle is in Tsakane.

Upon arrival the police found the abandoned vehicle.
